If you are a Google Workspace customer, you should know that there has been a recent change in how you can increase the cloud storage available for your business.
Now if you want to add Giga you need to upgrade to a subscription that includes more space.
The Mountain View company uses a pooled storage system. This means that the cloud is shared among all users in the organization, simplifying the management of services such as Google Drive, Gmail, Google Chat and Google Photos.
The amount of total storage space available to you depends on your subscription and the number of licenses included. This value represents the maximum amount of cloud space that all users can use together, also known as the "organization storage limit".
For example, if you use Google Workspace's Started subscription you have 30 GB available for your users, do you want to add more? We explain how to do that, keep reading our article.
Here's how to increase storage space
Google Workspace offers different types of versions to meet your needs. Depending on the subscription you subscribe to you will have access to different features, including changing the storage space available to you and users in your organization.
To upgrade you must have a super administrator account and follow these steps:
- Go to Billing;
- click Add or perform subscription upgrade;
- click Change to upgrade to the version you are interested in. A page will open that compares your current version with the new one you have chosen;.
- once you have identified the plan that suits your needs, continue with the order flow.
There are two types of versions you can switch to, the Business and Enterprise versions
- Business Versions:
- Business Starter: Professional email and productivity suite for up to 300 users with 30 GB for each
- Business Standard: Professional email and productivity suite for up to 300 users with 2 TB of storage space for each
- Business Plus: Advanced productivity suite for up to 300 users with 5 TB of storage space for each
- Enterprise versions, if more than 300 users are needed:
- Enterprise Standard: Comprehensive suite of productivity and collaboration apps with flexible storage space and enterprise-grade security and management features.
- Enterprise Plus: All-around productivity and collaboration with flexible storage space and the most advanced controls for security and compliance.
Check how storage space is being used in your organization
If you are a super administrator, you can use various storage space management tools to control how much storage is currently being used throughout your organization and how much is available before the limit is reached.
To check your remaining space just go to Storage Space in the menu within the Admin Console, at the top you can see the amount of storage used on Google Workspace.
Position the mouse pointer over each product to get a more detailed analysis of the space used by all users and the remaining space remaining.
