What do you want to be when you grow up? Cloud Architect! Let's celebrate women.

There's a book we particularly like, you've probably already leafed through it or read it to your children before bedtime, it's called Goodnight Stories for Rebellious Little Girls.

If you don't know it fix it now, it collects 100 stories of extraordinary women told by authors Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo.

There is Rita Levi Montalcini, Frida Kahlo, but also Serena Williams, Margherita Hack, African American activist Rosa Parks, surfer Maya Gabeira, Michele Obama, the list is long.

In common they have only the fact that they are women and super determined, because then in life they are or have been astronauts, painters, scientists, weightlifters, judges. All with courage, determination and generosity.

Women who have had great merit and who we unfortunately still see military in few fields. In our industry, for example, the technology one, which is still so purely male.

Maybe it is more impressive to see a convention hall of only ties than to read the statistics in the newspapers.
Our thoughts today and always go out to all the girls and women who dream or are studying to build their careers.

What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Of the many hypotheses, the ones that follow your inclinations and skills, think not only of the teacher, hairdresser, scientist, inventor, musician or princess, but also the Cybersecurity wizard, or to the Data Scientist who juggles big data and algorithms, the one who with a wand in no time creates a UX of value or who migrates software from home premise as a good Cloud Architect, whether from a 5 heel or a sneaker matters little.

We wish you success in achieving your goals without exacerbating the comparison with men or other women.

In fact, more and more today women are teaming up, sharing great little successes or encouraging others to bring out that untapped potential, a bit in all fields, think for example of singer Beyoncé or actress Emma Watson.

Women can make a difference!

Of important figures, in technology, we have and have had, although some are little known. We want to remember these women to give credit to their ingenuity.

Does Hedy Lamarr ring a bell? Perhaps some will remember her only as a charming and intense Hollywood actress and instead she was also inventor of the Secret Communication System. Did you know?"

Google long ago celebrated her by dedicating a beautiful doodle to her.

But let's also not forget

  • Ada Lovelace the world's first computer programmer
  • Sister Mary Kenneth Keller the first to earn a doctorate in computer science in the United States
  • Parisa Tabriz known as Security Princess, Computer Security engineer Google
  • Karen Spärck Jones, leading figure in the history of Search Engine development
  • Helen Greiner, iRobot co-founder
  • Margaret Hamilton , developed the on-board software for the Apollo 11 space program
  • Barbara Caputo, Professor at IIT Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia
  • Radia Perlman, mother of the STP.

Remember, today and always, we can! There is no limit to the conquest a woman can make.
