How to balance work and family with smart working and G Suite Apps

There are so many needs and points of view that we hear every day, whether from a CIO, an employee or an entrepreneur when it comes to the Cloud, smart working or the organization of work in general.

This time we want to focus on those of a new mother, freelancer, to whom we presented Google Cloud solutions to manage work and family with more flexibility.

When we talk about Cloud solutions or digitization, we use big words and technicalities and often refer to Industry 4.0. Many people hear this term and think that they will not be affected by the changes and opportunities related to technology and these new tools, but this is not the case.

What are the benefits of G Suite for balancing work and family?

For moms who work as employees, for those who are self-employed, think of a lawyer, an accountant, an interpreter, a graphic designer or a copywriter, Google Cloud solutions like G Suite are useful because they allow you to always have the office with you. This allows them to continue to work in total security using cloud-based apps, which in more structured companies discourages shadow IT (improper use of solutions not authorized by the IT department) and provides freelancers with flexibility and security, simplifying processes and optimizing time. Being a career mom therefore is possible!

Small businesses, such as that of a self-employed mom, are engaged in the challenge for digitization when large companies, regardless of their industry, are. Replacing folders of papers with cloud-based archives, enabling more streamlined data searches, protecting files, but at the same time making them accessible from any device if you have forgotten your computer, while standing in line at the Post Office, at a Client's, on the road or at home doing homework with your children, becomes vital! Understanding the benefits given by agile working or smart working as it may be through these new work tools is useful for everyone and in some respects especially for new mothers and caregivers.

Clearly, if in large Companies the decisions are up to the CEO or IT manager, small businesses such as those of self-employed men or women can choose in a more streamlined and autonomous way what solutions to adopt to organize their work on the move or from home.

Budget Law 2019 to balance work and family with smart working

The 2019 Budget Law has also made a statement on the matter, seeking to safeguard especially the category of new mothers or caregivers, that is, those who care for the sick or disabled in the family. "Public and private employers," it reads, "who enter into agreements for the performance of work in agile mode are required in any case to give priority to requests for the performance of work in agile mode formulated by female workers in the three years following the conclusion of the period of maternity leave provided for in Article 16 of the Consolidated Text of legislative provisions on the protection and support of maternity and paternity, referred to in Legislative Decree No. 26 March 2001, no. 151, or by workers with children with disabilities under Article 3, paragraph 3, of Law No. 104 of February 5, 1992."
