Grow with Google and Google.org support digital growth. An advanced community is not only one that is connected, but one that can narrow the gap related to digital technologies and skills.
In this era of great advances and innovations, it sounds trivial, but it's not at all, which is why it's interesting to know that since 2017 Grow with Google and Google.org have supported the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator (GDCA) training programs.
The goal? To create new job opportunities for 1.2 million people by 2021 by providing the support of Google tools, resources, and expertise.
The success of this initiative comes from the invaluable contribution of more than 1,000 Google volunteers and a $10 million Google.org grant. With this synergy, it is possible to ensure that people who lack the necessary digital skills have access to and are certified in Google (a first-of-its-kind Grow with Google program that imparts the skills needed to start a career in IT support).
This is a truly valuable opportunity. In fact, according to a Brookings 2017 report, nearly two-thirds of the new jobs created since 2010 have required mid- or high-level digital skills.
With these of training programs, it will be possible to accompany people with basic digital skills to advanced programming to foster social and economic inclusion.
