power2Cloud will be a partner in the Startup Weekend to be held at the ARCA Consortium, a business incubator of the University of Palermo, July 7-9, 2022 in Palermo (Viale delle Scienze building 16). The format is based on teamwork and the sharing of skills and experiences, with the aim of developing innovative business ideas in just three days.
This is a 54-hour creative marathon, from Thursday to Saturday, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, in which individuals with different backgrounds and qualifications (students, doctoral students, researchers and professors from a plurality of disciplinary departments/areas) will come together toshare ideas, form teams and develop business ideas.
Not just competition is what Startup Weekend is all about. There will be speeches by professionals who will give a lot of information in business, marketing, innovation and technology.
The partners of this event are virtuous and innovative companies in the Sicilian territory that will foster professional networking and have a role model.
Successful business testimonials,discussion of innovative products, will accompany the participants' days, stimulating creativity (through images, sounds and the creation of unconventional spaces), in an attempt to spur participants to go beyond established solutions for the development of their business ideas.
The consumption of meals (provided by the organization) and coffee-breaks (which will take place during the work and are also provided by the organization) are also intended as opportunities for socialization and stimulation of creative processes.
This ARCA-promoted edition is organized within the framework of the ALLER cross-border project (funded under the ENIItalia-Tunisia Program 2014-2020).
The ALLER project aims to develop entrepreneurial action in Sicily and Tunisia and aims to help young people in the cross-border territories build their future work from their spirit of innovation, through the creation of new businesses supported by the high intensity of shared knowledge, technical, technological and business alliances.
There are four goals of Startup Weekend.
Participants' activities will be carried out according to a program divided into three days:
Day 1 - Meet, pitch and team up (idea presentation, project selection, team formation, dinner and networking)
Thursday 07/07/22, 2-10 pm, on this first day, after institutional greetings and a workshop related to the theme of entrepreneurshipĖ, all participants in the event will have the opportunity to present their idea. The ideas deemed best, will be selected for the formation of working groups. Those who do not have an entrepreneurial idea will be able to sign up and choose the team to work in by providing their skills!
Day 2 - Learn and work
Friday 08/07/22, 9am-2pm, on this day participants will work intensively on idea development with intervals dedicated to short training pills, corporate testimonials, speeches by successful professionals and startuppers. During the day's work they will be assisted by mentors, divided by areas of expertise (Marketing, Design, Legal, etc.).
The latter are asked to support the participants by providing advice but always in full respect of the proposed ideas. The goal is to induce reasoning.
Day 3 - Present and choose
Saturday 09/07/22, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on this day we will refine the work in order to create an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that will then be presented during the pitch in front of a panel of experts composed of entrepreneurs, managers, representatives of incubators, accelerators and innovation funding sources and other players in the Startup world.
16 - 18 Finale and award ceremony (The award ceremony is an event open to the public).
Participants' activities will be supported by some training pills on the idea
development process and constantly supported by a plurality of mentors, such as power2Cloud, subjects mostly an expression of the Italian startup ecosystem with managerial and/or entrepreneurial background and vast knowledge of innovation and startup development and financing processes.
