Written by power2Cloud | 03/03/20

New challenges, new changes, new tools!

To help businesses and students right now Google is continuing to scale its infrastructure to support increased demand for Hangouts Meet, the G Suite App that helps organize video conferences, by enhancing access to this service.

Starting this week, Google will begin rolling out free access to enhanced Hangouts for those with G Suite and G Suite for Education globally.

Hangouts, which routinely helps the mobile productivity of businesses and Schools, will be expanded at no additional cost, let's see how:

  • Larger meetings for up to 250 participants per call
  • Live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers within the domain
  • Record meetings on Google Drive.

These features are typically available only in the Enterprise and Enterprise for Education editions of G Suite, but as of this week they will become available to all customers until July 1, 2020.

In Hong Kong and Vietnam, for example, there are hundreds of thousands of students already using Hangouts Meet and Google Classroom to participate in classes and continue attending school remotely.

In Italy, it is mostly Companies that have adopted smart working by reducing travel and adopting more restrictive work policies. In fact, in response to the Coronavirus, there are many employees who are working from home these hours.

We are confident that these new features will be able to ensure that all teams distributed nationally and globally will be able to compare and be productive at all times even if due to force majeure they cannot be in the same office.

Ministry Paola Pisano: "Innovation can make a contribution!"

"Digital and innovation," writes Paola Pisano Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitization on official channels, "can represent, if used in the right way, valuable resources to improve the lives of citizens and businesses. Today Italy is facing a time of health emergency, to counter the spread of the Coronavirus, which is greatly affecting the lives of tens of thousands of people in restricted areas.

Even in this difficult context, innovation can make its contribution, if not to regain the normality that has been forcibly lost, at least to find a different everyday life in which one does not have to give up work, information, shopping, one's sociability, and, especially for the youngest, play, training, and education.

Starting from this consideration, as I have decided to undertake a series of actions to be alongside our citizens and businesses using innovative services and solutions.

The services we want to make available have the common goal of improving the lives of people who are currently being forced to change their habits by enabling them to:

  • work remotely, through fast and free connectivity and the use of advanced smart working platforms;
  • read a newspaper for free even without going to a newsstand or a book without going to a bookstore on their smart phone or tablet;
  • keeping up with schooling and training, thanks to e-learning platforms, as proposed by MIUR."
