power2Cloud supports RIDE for inclusion of migrant women in digital transformation

On December 21, the Info day for the RIDE (Reach Inclusion Through Digital Empowerment For Migrant Women) project, sponsored by the social cooperative Dedalus with power2Cloud support, will take place.

RIDE is a consortium with nine local and international organizations ( diesis network, UNITEE, legacoopsociali, LITUS NOVUM, symplexis, theCodetoChange, European Network of Migrant Women, Youth Included) and has been working on migrant issues for several years, promoting the inclusion of women with migrant backgrounds in the digital labor market,to provide income for their families while they do fulfilling work and are truly more included in society.

Dedalus will select migrant women by promoting courses in networking, digital marketing, e-commerce, and online advertising, to learn and deepen their digital skills.

There will be approximately 100 hours of group training conducted in-person with Dedalus and power2Cloud tutors. Participants will be able to access professionalizing online resources, such as those from Facebook, Google Cloud, HubSpot, and Shopify, which will give them the opportunity to acquire internationally recognized certifications as well.

In fact, according to the Bocconi and Plan International report, Italy ranks fourth to last among European countries for "digital gender parity." Twelve positions below the European average and ahead of only Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.  

How to join the RIDE project in Campania

Are you a woman with foreign citizenship and want to work in the digital world?Do you want to improve your digital skills and explore topics related to eCommerce and digital marketing? Participate in the Info day on December 21 from 10:00 a.m. at Dedalus headquarters in Naples at Piazza Enrico de Nicola, 46 (1 floor staircase A). Digital training will be divided into five modules to learn about and explore digital tools that enable people to enter the world of work:

1. use of cloud applications for collaboration, with knowledge and use of the Google Workspace suite and in-depth study of modules intended for digital marketing 
2. e-commerce platform to sell on your own site online, but also on MarketPlace such as Amazon, ebay, Facebook and Instagram. On this occasion, it will be possible to compare with brands that have combined traditional activities with digital marketplaces 
3. customer care and inbound marketingto improve company profitability, build customer loyalty, offer timely and empathetic services, and create and share useful content for the community
4. campaigns paid to sell products and services online, advertise your page and analyze your business data. 

The requirements to participate in RIDE training are knowledge of English and Italian, aptitude for using digital tools, and willingness to expand one's knowledge in the areas of digital transformation, e-commerce, advertising, and online community management.

It will be interesting to explore these topics in more depth to give each person a chance to discover their own aptitudes. In addition, at the end of the training it will be possible to put into practice the skills acquired by carrying out an internship in small and medium-sized companies in the Campania region. 

RIDE:  include migrant and refugee women in the digital labor market

Did you know RIDE? It is a project that aims to include migrant and refugee women in the digital labor market by offering the opportunity to retrain or upgrade their skills. 

The gender perspective is crucial in designing measures and policies to integrate migrants and refugees into our society as well.

especially when you consider that due to lack of information, existing policies and structures force migrants and refugees, especially women, into isolation and dependency.

Let's not forget that migrant and refugee women face particular challenges in access to employment, from sexism to dependent care, yet like others they have a very high potential to lead the dialogue and address the social and economic challenge.

RIDE therefore seeks to promote the growth of their skills through:

1. development of guidelines to implement the entire process: bootcamps, training offers, labor market information days, and meetings with private companies and social enterprises;
2. recruitment of participants through national information days;
3. individual coaching and group sessions on social inclusion, women's rights, and labor market integration in the host country;
4. job-specific preparation through ICT training;
5. contacting and meeting local and international private and social enterprises through local job placement fairs;
6. offering internships and/or job placement.

Dedalus: social and economic inclusion for the vulnerable

Dedalus is a social cooperative founded in Naples, Campania, in 1981 by a group of people with different histories, skills and knowledge, experts in economics, labor market, research and social policies.

Has forty years of experience in the field of research, design and management of social value services and interventions related to issues related to social exclusion

of vulnerable groups, the local economy and local development. It has always been characterized

as a participatory place of work, sociality and cultural proposal, a space attentive to the

differences, whose mission is to build a welcoming and supportive community, capable of taking on difficulties in processes of coexistence.

Currently Dedalus promotes and supports pathways to citizenship, welcoming and

job orientation particularly for trafficked persons, non-trafficked foreign minors

accompanied persons, women in distress, transgender persons.

Here are the services of Dedalus:

• trafficking, exploitation and prostitution. Dedalus intervenes in favor of people of all nationalities, victims of violence or severe sexual, labor and in the performance of illegal activities and begging, through activities of legal/health information, facilitation of access to social/health services and promotion and protection of rights. The Cooperative is an accredited entity for the implementation of social welfare and protection programs.

• pathways for women in need. Dedalus designs and manages pathways of welcome and support for women in distress or experiencing violence to build stable and certain conditions of entitlement, care and empowerment. The recipients are actively involved in the development of individualized programs as co-leaders of their own emancipation.

• unaccompanied foreign minors. Unaccompanied foreign minors are those minors who are outside their country of origin, separated from an adult responsible for their care. Dedalus implements and coordinates different initiatives to ensure their reception, care and emancipation through individualized programs.

• work orientation. The area of work orientation aims to define personalized training paths aimed at the job placement of socially disadvantaged recipients, through orientation interviews, pre-training, skills assessment, active job search techniques, internships at companies, work grants.

• cultural linguistic mediation. Cultural linguistic mediation is cross-cultural methodology of Dedalus' services aimed at migrants, indispensable to guide and accompany recipients in accessing services, in the health, socio-educational, labor and criminal justice fields.

• harm reduction and low-threshold services . Harm reduction is a methodology that is not limited to risk reduction and health protection, but represents an opportunity to build relationships between practitioners and recipients, which often result in the initiation of pathways to emancipation and exit from situations of violence, exploitation and marginality.

• intercultural educational services . Dedalus works in the field of intercultural education by collaborating with schools in the area and managing intercultural educational centers, through services of cultural-linguistic mediation, school placement of foreign minors, and workshops for the enhancement of the culture of origin.
