Technology is a driver in school evolution. Not convinced? Watch this video. Google for Education and Google Classroom support education especially at this time when COVID-19 is pushing students to stay at home and doing so for free.
Some schools are not prepared for the digital leap imposed so abruptly and are adopting insecure or insufficiently centralised tools to manage classes, tasks and sensitive data.
The advantages of Google Classroom
Classroom helps students and teachers to organise tasks, improve collaboration and promote more efficient communication.
Google has worked closely with teachers to understand the systems they use to simplify their workloads, so they can get back to doing what they love: teaching!
Google Classroom was launched in 2014 to help teachers save time, organise lessons and improve communication with students.
If you think technology complicates the organisation and management of your work, you are wrong! According to Google Classroom, educational tools should be simple and easy to use, and is designed to give teachers more time to teach and students more time to learn.
What can teachers and students do with Classroom?
- Create and collect homework. Classroom combines Google Docs, Drive and Gmail to help teachers create and collect digital assignments. This way they can quickly see who has completed the work and provide real-time feedback to individual students.
- Improves classroom communication. Teachers can make announcements, ask questions and comment on student work in real time. This helps improve communication inside and outside the classroom.
- Stay organised. Classroom automatically creates Drive folders for each assignment and each student. Students can easily view what they need on the dedicated page within the app.
- Monitor progress. Teachers can share email summaries showing their students' progress in Classroom.
Google knows that it is crucial to protect students' privacy. Therefore, like the rest of the G Suite for Education services, Classroom contains no advertising and never uses classroom content or student data for advertising purposes.
